John Linton Roberson made a name for himself at Eros Comix as the creator of Suzy Spreadwell and Vladrushka, comics which told me he’d be the right person to bring this Tale to the page. For some reason, many queer artists are hesitant to draw mixed-gender sex scenes, so his heterosexuality was an asset. Another thing that I wasn’t anticipating – but was also welcome – was his willingness to ignore my panel-to-panel instructions when he had a better idea of how to break things down… there are some layouts here that never would have occurred to me, but work wonderfully at telling the story.
