I’m pleased to feature another story illustrated by Tom of… Belgium. Tom Bouden drew “The Dunes“, both are beach stories featuring Jay and Jason, and both stories were his choices. I like to give artists material they like to draw.
I don’t do a lot of pantomime stories like this, because I like stories with dialog. But some lend themselves really well to this format, and as long as you have a good visual storytelling doing the art, they’re fun to read.
The summer beach-tourist season is winding down by the time the autumnal equinox rolls around in September, so the beaches are less crowded, even the public ones. I prefer that, both because – even back in my young adulthood – I wasn’t really comfortable in crowds, and because… it’s just a bit more intimate and private. But not totally private, because that would take some of the fun out of it.
