I’ve been working a little on a “who’s who” of the various folks who appear in the Tales, and the idea for this piece featuring Vincent occurred to me. It rips off the background from that famous painter whose surname everyone outside the Netherlands mispronounces. (Both “go” and “goff” are wrong.) I am not a painter, and definitely not impressionist or expressionist. But ya gotta try different things, and faking vanGogh’s unnatural color and chunky brush strokes was a fun challenge.
