Tantalus was a character in Greek mythology, who sinned against the Olympians. His greatest offense was to test their omniscience by tricking them into eating his own son by cutting him up and adding him to a stew. For this, he was condemned to spend eternity standing in a pool of water, with a fruit-bearing branch overhead. But every time he reached up, the branch moved away from him, and every time he bent down to take a drink, the water receded. So close… but never close enough.
Bonus points to anyone who recognizes where the title logo for this came from. Hint: Never mind the bollocks.
