I didn’t join the YMCA to get laid.
I didn’t need to join the YMCA to get laid.
I joined the YMCA for my health. The fact that it made me feel sexier as I got healthier, and gave me more opportunities to get laid… those were side benefits.
There’s a lot of what’s called “body shaming” in queer culture, and that really isn’t a good thing. Someone can be “overweight” and still be pretty healthy, and there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that, especially if they like the way they are.
On the other hand, there’s also a lot of just unhealthy living in our society: eating too much, the wrong stuff, and not getting enough exercise. And addressing the last part doesn’t have to take an obscene amount of time or money, which is what the title of this story is about. You don’t need $6 million to rebuild a somewhat-run-down body, just $50/month for a year will do a lot of good, which it did for me.
To be honest, I haven’t kept at it like I did in 2012, so I’m not quite the picture of fitness I was at the end of this Tale. But I’m still working on it.
I hate exercises!
Even if there’s a reward at the finish line?

Thank you for continuing to look for it! We aren’t going anywhere!
im so glad! have you ever thought about meeting some of your fans?
I’ve got an upcoming Tale about that, actually.
Well we’re still waiting for this Tale then ! Ahah
I’m afraid there are a bunch of other Tales in my to-draw queue ahead of it (and I don’t have another artist lined up to do it). But I’ll see what I can do.
